Finding Peace...After Disappointing Relationships

Were you hoping for contentment and happiness in a human relationship...only to be disappointed? In the fourth chapter of John, a woman with a pattern of broken relationships talks with Jesus Christ. Jesus points her to the primary importance of her relationship with God. He addresses her need to depend on God and to worship God. Read John 4:7-26 to  review the conversation. Then, ask yourself, "Have I been trying to find permanent satisfaction in others when I should have been pursuing my relationship with God?"

If you have been forsaken...Jesus understands. He was forsaken by all and crucified. He knows your disappointment. When you start a relationship with Jesus, you will not ever be disappointed ... you will never be alone again. He sticks closer than a brother. He will never leave or forsake you.  Proverbs 18:24. When no man stands with you, and all men leave you...the Lord will be with you. Your loneliness will end when you find Christ.
