Finding Peace...When Success is Unfulfilling

A young, successful, community-minded leader seems to have everything-money, respect, a good reputation-yet searches for more. So he comes to Jesus Christ with a question most of us ask ourselves at some point in our lives. "What can I do to live forever?" Read Luke 18:18-30 to discover Jesus' answer.

Many people believe that success will bring peace and happiness. King Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived. Yet in all of his success, he concluded worldly success was vanity. All that we accumulate in life will be left for others to enjoy. He said the rich man’s eye is never satisfied ... success does not bring enduring satisfaction. Solomon eventually found satisfaction not in success, but in remembering his Creator. No matter how successful we are, we cannot find satisfaction in our life without a relationship with God. Read Ecclesiastes 12:1,13. Consider if the success you have experienced has truly made you satisfied. Ask yourself, could Jesus Christ be the piece that I am missing?

Although God gives us many things to enjoy, but we can only find true delight in life from Him. Jesus taught that He came to give us life. Not just life... but abundant life! Read John 10:10.
